Keychron has officially expanded its keyboard lineup with the launch of the new Keychron K5 Ultra 8K. The latest model joins the company’s growing K Ultra series and brings a full-size low-profile design, fast wireless performance, and premium wood accents for users who want both style and functionality.
The Keychron K5 Ultra comes with a 100% layout, making it a good choice for office work, content creation, and gaming. It includes a programmable control knob above the backspace key and a dedicated macro row above the numeric keypad, giving users quick access to extra functions and shortcuts.
One of the biggest highlights is its support for an 8,000Hz polling rate. This is available through both the wired USB Type-C connection and the 2.4GHz wireless mode, helping deliver faster response times. The keyboard also supports Bluetooth 5.2 for connecting to multiple devices.
Keychron has equipped the Keychron K5 Ultra with a 2,400mAh battery. According to the company, users can get up to 370 hours of usage on a single charge when RGB lighting is turned off and the keyboard is operating at its 8K polling rate.
The keyboard is available with Keychron’s Milk POM low-profile mechanical switches. Buyers can choose between Red, Brown, and Banana switch options. The Red switch offers a smooth linear feel, while the Brown and Banana switches provide tactile feedback for those who prefer a more noticeable key press.
The K5 Ultra also features north-facing RGB lighting and full key remapping support through the browser-based Keychron Launcher software. Users can customize keys, create macros, and adjust settings without installing additional software.
In terms of design, the keyboard combines an ABS plastic body with metal rails and rose wood side panels. It also uses double-shot PBT keycaps in Keychron’s LSA profile, which are designed to resist wear and maintain their appearance over time.
Measuring 436.6 x 128.29 mm with a front height of 15.55 mm, the K5 Ultra remains slim while offering a complete full-size layout. Two-stage adjustable feet are also included to provide different typing angles for improved comfort.
