ASUS has introduced a brand-new motherboard called the ROG Crosshair 2006 to celebrate 20 years of the ROG brand. The motherboard combines old-school gaming style with the latest high-end hardware features for modern PC gamers.
The design of the ROG Crosshair 2006 is inspired by the very first ROG motherboard released many years ago. ASUS has used retro colours and classic styling to give the board a nostalgic look while still offering powerful performance for today’s gaming systems.

A special feature on the motherboard is the built-in 2-inch OLED display placed over the main M.2 slot. This small screen can show important system details like CPU speed, temperatures, and fan information. Users can also customise it with personal images or animated graphics.
The motherboard is designed for AMD Ryzen 9000 Series processors and comes with a strong power system to handle demanding gaming and heavy workloads. ASUS has equipped it with high-quality components, including 20+2+2 power stages, premium capacitors, and large cooling heatsinks to help maintain stable performance.

For memory support, ASUS added several improvements focused on DDR5 performance. Technologies like NitroPath DRAM and PCB back drilling are included to help users achieve faster memory speeds and better system stability.
Storage and expansion are also a major focus. The ROG Crosshair 2006 board includes two PCIe 5.0 x16 slots for graphics cards and five M.2 slots for SSD storage. Two of the M.2 slots support PCIe 5.0 drives for higher transfer speeds. ASUS has also included its easy-install features such as M.2 Q-Latch and Q-Release to simplify the building process.
Connectivity options are fully up to date. The motherboard supports WiFi 7 and includes both 10G and 5G Ethernet ports for fast wired networking. Users also get dual USB4 ports and support for a front USB Type-C connector with Quick Charge 4+ up to 60W.
Another feature included is the ASUS AIO Q-Connector system. Compatible liquid coolers can connect directly to the motherboard without extra visible wires, helping users create a cleaner-looking PC build.
With its mix of retro design and modern flagship features, the ROG Crosshair 2006 is clearly aimed at gamers and PC enthusiasts who want strong performance with a unique style.
