LG Electronics has introduced a new gaming monitor that focuses on both sharp visuals and smooth performance. The new UltraGear evo 27GM950B was first shown at CES 2026 and is now coming to market with strong features for gamers and creators.
This UltraGear evo 27GM950B monitor uses a 5K resolution of 5120 x 2880, which means images look very clear and detailed. It also comes with a new Hyper Mini LED technology that improves brightness and contrast. This helps games look more real, with deeper blacks and brighter highlights.

One of the main improvements is better light control. The monitor has 2,304 local dimming zones, which is higher than many standard Mini LED displays. This allows the screen to control brightness more accurately and reduce unwanted glow around bright objects. Because of this, it has received anti-blooming certification from TÜV Rheinland.

Brightness is another strong point. The monitor supports VESA DisplayHDR 1000 and can reach up to 1,250 nits. This means bright scenes like explosions or sunlight look more intense, while dark areas stay clear and detailed.
The monitor also includes AI features to improve the experience. It can upscale content to 5K, so even lower resolution content looks sharper without needing extra power from the graphics card. It also adjusts scenes and sound automatically to keep visuals and audio balanced.

For gaming, the monitor offers a Dual Mode feature. Users can switch between 5K at 165Hz for better visuals, or QHD at 330Hz for faster gameplay. Both modes support a 1ms response time, which helps reduce motion blur. It also supports NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium, which helps remove screen tearing.
Connectivity is modern and flexible. It includes DisplayPort 2.1 and USB-C with 90W power delivery. This allows users to connect and charge devices like laptops using a single cable.
While this monitor is built for gaming, it is also useful for creators. The high resolution and strong colour and brightness performance make it suitable for editing and design work.
UltraGear evo 27GM950B launch date and pricing
The UltraGear evo 27GM950B is expected to launch starting April in selected markets, with wider availability later. The price is set at $1200.
With this release, LG Electronics is clearly aiming to offer a more advanced display that combines high resolution, strong brightness, and smooth performance in one package.
