Forza Horizon 6 is off to an absurdly fast start. Just a few days after release, the open-world racer has already passed six million players worldwide.
That is a huge number for any modern release. For a racing game, it is even bigger.
A massive launch week
Playground Games launched Forza Horizon 6 globally on 19 May. The game had already built momentum during its Early Access period, where more than one million players jumped in before full release.
Now the numbers have exploded.
The studio confirmed the six million figure through social media this week. Steam activity has stayed strong too, with hundreds of thousands of players online at the same time during peak hours.
That kind of start puts the game among Xbox’s biggest launches in recent years.
Game Pass has clearly helped push the player count higher, but the premium editions also appear to be selling well. The game topped several PC storefront charts over the weekend.
Players seem genuinely happy
Big launches do not always mean happy players. That is not the case here.
Critics have praised the game’s new Japan setting, improved weather system, and larger map. User reactions have also stayed surprisingly positive after launch week, which is usually where problems start showing up.

The community is already filling social media with custom cars, drifting clips, and photo mode shots.
Right now, Forza Horizon 6 looks like another huge win for Xbox.
