Remedy Entertainment has revealed how New Game Plus works in Control Resonant, and it’s clearly built to change how you play the second time.
You keep most of your progress. Aberrant upgrades, health boosts, combat resources, abilities, talents, and artifacts all carry over. The only reset is traversal abilities, as they’re tied to story progression.

The real twist is how builds evolve. New talent nodes unlock during New Game Plus, letting you create combinations that weren’t possible before. You can also collect multiple abilities from the same boss, opening the door to very different playstyles on repeat runs.
Artifacts get a quiet but important upgrade, too. While the base game limits you to three slots, New Game Plus adds a fourth, giving you more flexibility when building your setup.
The challenge scales alongside you. Enemies are tougher, encounters change, and some bosses gain new behaviours, meaning old strategies may not work anymore.

Replayability goes beyond combat. World Quests and bounties can be replayed, missed collectibles stay available, and some side content can play out differently.
Control Resonant is targeting Q2 2026, though a final release date hasn’t been confirmed yet.
