Acer has officially revealed the new Predator Atlas 8, a powerful gaming handheld built for players who want a full PC gaming experience on the go. The new device joins Acer’s Predator gaming lineup and brings high-end hardware, a fast display, and advanced cooling in a portable design.

The Predator Atlas 8 is powered by Intel’s latest Arc G-Series processors and can be configured with Intel Arc B390 graphics. Acer says the handheld is designed to deliver smooth gaming performance while also improving battery efficiency. It runs Windows 11 and includes access to Xbox Game Pass, giving players a quick way to enjoy hundreds of games.

One of the biggest highlights is the 8-inch WUXGA touchscreen. The display supports a 120Hz refresh rate, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), and up to 500 nits of brightness. Acer has also added Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection to help protect the screen from scratches while reducing glare in bright environments.
To keep temperatures under control, Acer has introduced a dual-fan cooling system inspired by its Predator gaming laptops. The company claims the handheld features the first metal cooling fan used in a gaming handheld. Combined with a second fan and improved airflow design, the cooling system is built to maintain performance during long gaming sessions.
The Predator Atlas 8 also focuses on battery life. It comes with an 80Wh battery and Intel Endurance Gaming technology, which helps balance performance and power usage. This allows users to enjoy longer gaming sessions without needing to recharge as often.
For audio, the handheld includes dual 2W speakers with DTS Ultra support. Acer has also added dual microphones with AI-powered noise reduction for clearer voice communication while gaming online.
Connectivity options are modern and future-ready. The handheld features dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and support for UHS-II microSD cards for fast storage expansion.
Acer has also designed the controls for different types of games. The full-size analog sticks are paired with adjustable triggers that can switch between quick-click mode for shooting games and Hall-effect analog controls for racing and simulation titles.
