007 First Light is getting the full PS5 Pro treatment from day one, and IO Interactive seems unusually confident about the results.
The studio has confirmed that Sony’s upgraded PSSR tech is built directly into the PS5 Pro version. That means sharper visuals, cleaner motion, and far less shimmer during gameplay. Anyone who has played modern upscaled games knows how distracting flickering edges can get. IO apparently wants that gone before players even notice it.
The improvements are not limited to resolution either. Character faces, suits, hair, and environmental detail all reportedly hold together much better during movement. Fast camera pans are also said to look steadier, which matters in a cinematic spy game where the camera rarely stays still for long.

What stands out most is how quickly the feature was added. IO Interactive claims the system worked so well early on that the team did not need to manually tweak scenes one by one. That is not common. Most advanced upscaling solutions still need extra polishing in darker areas or heavy foliage.
That could be a good sign for 007 First Light‘s overall technical state ahead of launch.
PS5 Pro players also avoid the usual waiting game. The enhanced PSSR support will be available immediately when 007 First Light launches on 27th May 2026.

With more studios leaning on AI-assisted upscaling, image quality is becoming just as important as raw frame rates. Sony clearly wants PS5 Pro to push both at once.
