Resident Evil Requiem already feels packed with ideas, but a new datamine suggests Capcom once planned something far bigger.
According to findings shared by dataminer umesooooo and reposted by known leaker DuskGolem, the game originally included several mechanics that never made it into the final version.
The biggest surprise is a Merchant-style character. Resident Evil Requiem leaked files reportedly show a full weapon customisation menu similar to Resident Evil 4. There was also a side mission system that sounded very close to RE4’s optional requests.
But things get even stranger.
One cut mechanic allowed Leon to collect blood and inject it as a performance enhancer. The more blood he gathered, the stronger he became. Stamina, critical hit chance, and weapon power would all increase. It sounds risky, messy, and honestly very Resident Evil.

The most talked-about discovery, though, is the “Leon’s Seizure” mechanic.
A leaked screenshot tied the feature to Professional Difficulty. The idea was apparently that Leon’s seizures would happen more often on harder settings, adding another layer of pressure during gameplay. It could have created real tension, but it is easy to see why Capcom may have stepped away from it due to accessibility concerns.
Resident Evil Requiem datamine also mentions combustion ammo, toxic rounds, a motorcycle repair tutorial, and a map that tracked both Leon and Grace at the same time.

Capcom has not commented on the leaks. Some of these ideas may stay buried forever. Others could return later as DLC or unused concepts in a future sequel.
