Steam controller pre orders sell out fast as demand stays strong

The new Steam Controller from Valve has started on a very strong note. Pre orders opened earlier today, and the response was much bigger than expected. Within just 30 minutes, the controller was completely sold out across all regions.

The pre order window opened at 7:00 PM Italian time, but many users say it was already hard to secure a unit right from the start. Heavy traffic caused server issues, and many people had to retry payments again and again. This made it even harder to place an order before stock ran out.

A small number of buyers managed to lock in early shipping, with delivery expected in 3 to 5 days. However, most successful orders now show a longer wait time of 6 to 10 days.

Even though official stock is gone, resellers have already stepped in. Listings on eBay US are showing prices between $150 and $200, with some offers going as high as $300. This is much higher than the official price of $99.

So far, Valve has not shared any update about Steam Controller restock. There is also no clear timeline for when pre orders will open again. Since this controller does not rely on complex storage parts, production can likely increase, but that has not been confirmed yet.

For now, the Steam Controller launch shows strong demand and clear interest from players. The real question is how fast Valve can bring more units back to the market.
