Sony has revealed the PlayStation Plus Essential games for May 2026, and it’s a month that leans heavily on one very big football name.
From 5 May, subscribers can claim three games: EA Sports FC 26, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, and Nine Sols.
EA Sports FC 26 is clearly the attention grabber here. It’s not often a fresh entry in EA’s football series lands in a monthly subscription so soon, and PS Plus members also get a bonus Icons Pack while it stays in the lineup.
Away from the pitch, the selection does a decent job of mixing things up. Wuchang: Fallen Feathers offers a darker, soulslike action RPG experience, while Nine Sols goes in the opposite direction with fast-paced, hand-drawn platforming and a distinct art style.

It’s not a massive or flashy month overall, but it does cover a fair spread of genres without feeling random.
As always, this only covers the Essential tier. Extra and Premium Game Catalog updates are expected later in the month.
One reminder worth keeping in mind: several games are also leaving PS Plus in May, so it’s probably worth checking your library before they rotate out.
