Black Flag Resynced is already flying, Ubisoft hits a million wishlists in a week

Black Flag Resynced

Ubisoft didn’t need long to prove there’s still serious demand for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. The newly announced Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has crossed one million wishlists in just seven days, and yes, that’s as fast as it sounds.

This isn’t just launch hype either. That number tells you something simple: players have been waiting for this one.

The original Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag still holds a special place for many fans, and Ubisoft seems to have read the room properly this time. Instead of chasing trends, the publisher is leaning back into what made the pirate-era entry work in the first place.

At the time of writing, the remake is locked in for 9 July 2026, a date that leaked earlier but is now official. And importantly, this isn’t being sold as a basic remaster.

Combat has been pushed towards a more active, hands-on style, while the much-criticised tailing missions have been reworked. That alone will raise a few eyebrows, in a good way.

Crucially, Ubisoft has also confirmed that Black Flag Resynced is sticking with the classic formula here. No full RPG overhaul, no drastic identity shift. Just a modern version of a fan-favourite.

One million wishlists in a week isn’t normal. If anything, it suggests Ubisoft might finally be playing it safe, and for once, that might be exactly what players want.
