The new GTA 6 trailer has given Netflix a major boost. According to Ampere Analysis, more than 100,000 people in the US signed up for Netflix after watching the GTA 6 Extended Look durineg its exclusive release window.
The result shows how much attention the next Grand Theft Auto game is getting, even outside the usual gaming audience.
GTA 6 trailer brings new Netflix users
Netflix received more than 100,000 new US subscriptions during the six-hour exclusive window for the GTA 6 Extended Look, according to Ampere Analysis.
That made the event the third biggest driver of new Netflix subscriptions in 2026 so far. Only the final season of Stranger Things and the Ronda Rousey vs Gina Carano MMA event generated more new signups during the period measured by Ampere.
The numbers show the strong interest around GTA 6, which remains one of the most talked-about upcoming games.
GTA 6 also brought back inactive Netflix users
The impact was not limited to new subscribers.
Ampere found that more than 5% of US Netflix subscribers who had not watched anything on the service during the previous 30 days returned to the platform to watch the GTA 6 Extended Look.
This gave the trailer the highest reactivation rate among Netflix products during the same 30-day period.
Ampere analyst Louise Wooldridge said the results show how a major gaming event can attract viewers to Netflix while also helping Rockstar reach people beyond the traditional Grand Theft Auto audience.
For Netflix, the partnership also provides another way to compete for gamers’ attention, especially against platforms such as YouTube.
GTA 6 release date
GTA 6 is currently scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
With the release getting closer, Rockstar is expected to reveal more details about the game and its version of Vice City in the coming months.
The latest trailer has already shown more of the game’s characters, locations and world, giving fans a closer look at what Rockstar is building for its next major release.
