Corsair has introduced the TC80, a new gaming chair positioned for people who want a comfortable and durable seat without stepping up to the company’s more expensive models.

The chair is aimed at more than just gamers. Corsair is also targeting creators and everyday desk users, which makes sense given the TC80’s relatively simple design and range of adjustments.

The seat is wide and flat, with generous padding underneath breathable fabric upholstery. Leatherette sections add some contrast to the black finish, while a removable neck pillow is included for users who want additional support.

The TC80 also gives users plenty of room to adjust their seating position. Its height can be changed across a 100 mm range, while the backrest reclines from 90° to 115°. Instead of forcing users into a handful of fixed positions, the chair can be locked at the angle they prefer. Recline tension is adjustable as well.

Another useful touch is the self-leveling armrest design, which is intended to keep the armrests in a comfortable position as the backrest moves.

Corsair has paid particular attention to the chair’s construction. The TC80 uses a steel five-star base, 50 mm casters, and a Class 4 steel gas lift. The company says the model has gone through more than 30 safety and durability tests and meets both BIFMA X5.1 and EN 1335 standards.

Some of the testing was particularly demanding. The seat was subjected to 100,000 durability cycles, while the tilt mechanism was tested for 300,000 cycles with a 109 kg load. Corsair also tested the armrests through 60,000 cycles and performed additional load, stability, and swivel tests.

The TC80 is now available in a black fabric and leatherette finish. It costs $199.99 in the US, €179.90 in Europe, and £169.99 in the UK.

It sits alongside the TC100 RELAXED and the premium TC500 LUXE in Corsair’s gaming chair range. At $199.99, the TC80 is clearly aimed at buyers who care more about practical comfort and long-term use than flashy gaming-chair styling.
