Nintendo Goes All In on Switch 2 With Ocarina Remake, Kingdom Hearts 4 and More

Nintendo Direct

Nintendo packed its latest Direct with game after game for Switch 2. From long-awaited remakes to major third-party releases, the showcase left little room to breathe.

Several surprises landed during the presentation. A few fan favourites also finally made their return.

The final reveal stole the spotlight

The biggest moment came right at the end.

Nintendo confirmed The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake for 2026. The trailer was short, but it did not need to be any longer. Seeing Link once again was enough to send fans into a frenzy.

Another major highlight was Kingdom Hearts 4. After years of silence, Square Enix finally showed more gameplay and confirmed a Switch 2 release alongside other platforms.

Nintendo’s release calendar keeps growing

The rest of the showcase was packed with new games and release dates.

Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave arrives on 17 September. Splatoon Raiders follows on 23 July, while Rhythm Heaven Groove lands on 2 July.

Third-party support was also impossible to ignore. Stellar Blade, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, Lies of P: Complete Edition, and Devil May Cry 5 are all heading to Switch 2.

Nintendo also revealed Xenoblade Genesis, Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World, and Rayman Legends Retold.

A massive year ahead

Some games still do not have release dates. Even so, the message was clear.

Nintendo wants Switch 2 to have a packed launch window. If these announcements deliver, 2026 could become one of the console’s strongest years yet.
