Fans of Warhorse Studios suddenly have a lot to look forward to. The studio has officially confirmed that two new games are now in development, and both sound massive.

One is a brand-new Kingdom Come project. The other is an open-world Lord of the Rings RPG set in Middle-earth.

The announcement came through the Warhorse Studios social channels, though details were kept extremely light. There is no gameplay yet, no platforms confirmed, and no release window either. Right now, Warhorse is simply letting players know these projects exist.

The next Kingdom Come title was described as a “new adventure”. That wording has already sparked speculation online. Some fans think it could mean a spin-off rather than a direct sequel. Others believe the Warhorse Studios is just being careful with its wording this early in development.

Either way, interest is already high.

The bigger surprise is clearly the Lord of the Rings game. After the grounded medieval world seen in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, many players think Warhorse could be a strong fit for Tolkien’s universe. The studio has built a reputation for immersive RPG systems and believable worlds, which could work well in Middle-earth.

What part of Tolkien’s timeline the game will explore is still unknown. At the time of writing, almost everything about the project remains a mystery.
