Marathon Patch 1.0.6 to Bring Recon Shell Changes, Bungie Confirms

Marathon

Bungie has outlined a series of Recon Shell adjustments coming to Marathon in patch 1.0.6, scheduled for release on April 14, with the studio sharing details via the Marathon Dev Team’s official Twitter account ahead of the full patch notes.

The changes target two abilities within the Recon Shell kit. Echo Pulse will see its visibility to enemies reduced, making it more difficult for opponents to determine whether they fall within attack range. Runners who deploy a Signal Jammer prior to activating Echo Pulse will additionally appear as UESC to enemies, a layered interaction that adds a degree of deception to the ability’s utility.

The Tracker Drone is also receiving adjustments, with Bungie increasing its tracking strength and granting it the ability to seek out a new target should it fail to reach its initial one. The studio framed the change as making the drone “more aggressive,” addressing what has been a notable limitation for Recon players in the current build.

Bungie has previously confirmed its intention to support Marathon for many years following launch, with patch 1.0.6 representing one of the game’s earliest post-launch balance updates. Full patch notes for the update are expected to be released prior to the April 14 rollout.
