Pearl Abyss has confirmed a crossover between Crimson Desert and Fortnite, with the battle royale set to receive a skin based on the action RPG’s protagonist, Kliff, though the outfit is tied to a purchase incentive rather than Fortnite’s Item Shop.
The collaboration was disclosed via the official Crimson Desert account on X. “Any pre-purchase or purchase of game on the Epic Games Store from January 23, 2026, 11 AM ET will grant players the Kliff outfit,” the post confirmed, with the skin becoming redeemable from 19th March 2026. Players are required to have their Epic accounts linked to claim the reward, and the offer remains active until the game leaves the store.
Crimson Desert sales surge past 3 million, and it’s happening faster than expected
The announcement arrives during a transitional period for Pearl Abyss. The studio has acknowledged early-stage R&D on a Switch 2 version of Crimson Desert, though no release window has been confirmed. More significantly, the core development team has been reassigned to DokeV, the company’s next major project, a detail that contextualises the collaboration as promotional support rather than a sign of sustained post-launch investment.

Fortnite has established itself as a consistent vehicle for gaming crossovers, with a Super Meat Boy 3D collaboration among those recently teased by Epic.
