Intel confirms powerful XeSS 3 upgrade is coming to Arc B580 next month

Intel has confirmed some good news for Arc graphics card users. The Intel Arc B580 will receive support for XeSS 3 with multi-frame generation next month. This upgrade is expected to improve game performance and make gameplay smoother.

This information was shared in an email sent by Intel, which was later reported by Tom’s Guide. Even though Intel recently released new Arc GPU drivers, the Arc B580 did not get XeSS 3 support right away. The update will arrive a little later, but it is now officially confirmed.

The new drivers are already live for other hardware. Core Ultra 300 series processors, also known as Panther Lake, are the first to support XeSS 3 with multi-frame generation. These chips come with new Arc integrated graphics and are mainly used in laptops and compact PCs.

According to Tom’s Guide, the feature is being tested on a Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro laptop powered by a Core Ultra 7 358H processor. This chip includes the Arc B390 integrated GPU, which is based on the new Xe3 graphics design. Early tests are expected to show how well XeSS 3 improves performance on integrated graphics.

Intel has also hinted that this technology will not stop with laptops and desktops. The company said that gaming handhelds are an exciting area and more updates are planned later this year using Intel Arc graphics.

After the Arc B580 gets XeSS 3 support, it is likely that the Arc B570 and older Arc A-series graphics cards will also receive the feature. This means more Arc users will benefit from better frame rates and smoother gaming in the near future.
