Leaked Fable artwork suggests Bloodstone’s return and a much darker reboot

Fable

Just days before the Xbox Developer Direct, leaked concept art may have stolen some of Fable’s thunder. The images, reportedly pulled from a former developer’s portfolio, offer an early look at what Playground Games could be building for its long-awaited reboot.

The biggest talking point is Bloodstone. Yes, that Bloodstone. The infamous port town from Fable 2 appears to be making a comeback, complete with its mountain-lined entrance. Concept art points to multiple districts, including the Market District, Pub Island, and an Arena. Signs advertising fish sales and a location called “The Phoenix Feather” suggest this isn’t just a backdrop, but a fully working town.

Fable locations point to story-driven changes

Another standout is a swamp village named Hamlet. Two versions appear in the artwork: one untouched, and another after a flood. It’s a clear hint that the world may change as the story unfolds, something Fable fans have been asking for.

Elsewhere, the tone looks much darker. One image shows the hero moving through sewers, while another depicts a brutal werewolf den filled with bones, skulls, and hanging bodies. There’s also concept art for several chest designs, suggesting loot variety is still very much part of the experience.

Fable

As always with leaks, nothing is final. The reboot was delayed to 2026, and details could change. Still, with the Xbox Developer Direct approaching, this might be our clearest look yet at where Fable is heading.
