Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 brings exciting future for compact desktop PCs

Qualcomm has shared a new teaser video that strongly hints at a bigger future for its Snapdragon X Series processors. This time, the focus is not only on laptops. The company is now pointing towards desktop PCs as well.

The teaser was uploaded on the official Snapdragon YouTube channel on January 13. In the video description, Qualcomm says that next generation desktops are here. It adds that Snapdragon X Series processors build on the success seen in laptops and bring speed, smart features, and better power use to desktop systems.

In the video itself, Qualcomm talks about flexible PCs that offer things traditional desktops do not. The wording is a bit unclear, but the message suggests a new kind of desktop experience. Several scenes show people working with wireless keyboards and modern office setups.

The desktop systems shown in the trailer look small and simple. They appear to be compact mini PCs connected to curved monitors. These designs do not look like large desktop towers. This has raised questions about what Qualcomm really means by desktop PCs.

According to a report by VideoCardz, Qualcomm has only shown passively cooled mini PC prototypes at earlier events. At the Snapdragon Summit 2025 in Hawaii, the company displayed very small systems. Some were round and looked like hockey pucks or even drink coasters.

Because of this, the trailer may give the wrong idea to some viewers. While the video talks about desktops, Qualcomm has not yet shown any full sized desktop systems powered by Snapdragon X chips.

Still, the teaser highlights some key benefits. These include Copilot Plus features for faster work, compact designs that fit easily into any space, and personal AI processing that focuses on privacy and quick response.

At this point, it is clear that Qualcomm wants to move Snapdragon beyond laptops. However, more details are needed. Clear information from Qualcomm and its partners will help users understand what kind of desktop PCs are coming when the final products get closer to release.
