Sony has officially revealed its new Hyperpop Collection for PlayStation 5, and it is all about colour, energy, and strong visual impact. This new collection introduces three eye-catching designs for DualSense wireless controllers and matching PS5 console covers, made for players who want their gaming setup to look as loud as it feels.
The Hyperpop Collection uses glossy black finishes that smoothly blend into bright neon colours. These colours are inspired by modern gaming rooms filled with RGB lights. Sony says the goal was simple: create accessories that do not just sit in the room, but take over the space visually.
Players can choose from three different styles in the collection, named Techno, Remix, and Rhythm. Each one offers a unique colour flow, letting players pick a look that matches their mood or gaming setup.
According to Leo Cardoso from Sony’s Color, Material, and Finish design team, this collection is made to stand out. He explained that the colours are meant to feel loud and powerful, just like the glow from high-end gaming setups. The idea was to turn that lighting style into something you can hold in your hands.
Sae Kobayashi, also from the same design team, shared more details about the design work. She said the DualSense controllers feature a smooth gradient that wraps around both the front and back. A high-gloss finish is used to make the colours shine even more. The PS5 console covers follow the same design idea and also include a light touch of transparency, giving them a premium and modern look.
Sony is clearly aiming this collection at players who care about style just as much as performance. The company is encouraging players to “play loud and look louder” with this new lineup.
In terms of pricing, the Hyperpop DualSense wireless controllers will be available for $84.99 in the US. The matching PS5 console covers will cost $74.99 and will be sold in limited numbers in selected markets.
Hyperpop pre-orders
The Hyperpop Collection will officially launch on March 12, 2026. Pre-orders will open earlier on January 16, 2026, starting at 10am local time through direct.playstation.com, where available, and selected retailers. Sony has also noted that exact release dates and availability may change depending on the country or region.
