GMKtec has officially shown its new GMKtec EVO T2 mini PC at CES, and it already looks like one of the most powerful small PCs we have seen so far. This system is special because it is the first mini PC to use Intel’s brand new Core Ultra X9 388H processor, which belongs to the upcoming Panther Lake family. It is also the first known product to use Intel’s advanced 18A manufacturing process, making it an important step forward for future PCs.

Right now, this is only a public announcement. GMKtec has not shared any release date or price. That is not surprising, as the GMKtec EVO T2 supports very high-end hardware. One of the biggest highlights is its support for up to 128 GB of LPDDR5X memory running at an extremely high speed of 10,677 MT/s. Memory with these speeds is still rare and costly, so pricing details are being kept quiet for now.

At the heart of the GMKtec EVO T2 is the Intel Core Ultra X9 388H processor. This is the top Panther Lake chip and comes with a total of 16 cores. These include 4 performance cores, 8 efficiency cores, and 4 low power efficiency cores. The CPU can boost up to 5.10 GHz, which is impressive for a chip designed for compact systems. However, the most exciting part is its new integrated graphics. The processor includes a 12 core GPU based on Intel’s Xe3 design, known as the Intel Arc B390. Early information suggests this iGPU is much stronger than what we usually see in mini PCs.
GMKtec pairs this processor with fast LPDDR5X memory and SSD storage. The chip also includes a dedicated NPU, which helps with AI tasks. Because of this, the EVO T2 is already being promoted as a strong option for AI work, content creation, and advanced daily use. Gaming is also possible, especially if the final price stays reasonable. Early claims suggest the Intel Arc B390 could deliver around twice the graphics performance of AMD’s Radeon 890M, which is already used in many next generation handheld and compact gaming devices.
In terms of connectivity, the GMKtec EVO T2 is well equipped. It comes with two Ethernet ports for stable wired networking. For displays, there are both DisplayPort and HDMI outputs. The mini PC also includes two USB Type C ports, four USB 3.0 ports, and one USB 2.0 port, giving users plenty of options for accessories. Wireless features include Wi Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5, which should ensure fast and reliable connections.
GMKtec EVO T2 performance leaked
Some early performance details of GMKtec EVO T2 have also appeared online. The Intel Core Ultra X9 388H has shown up in Geekbench 6.5 tests. It scored around 3,057 points in single core performance and 17,687 points in multi core performance. These numbers suggest it is slightly faster than AMD’s Ryzen AI Max Plus 395, with small gains in both single and multi core tasks. To put things into perspective, this laptop class processor performs close to desktop chips like the Intel Core i7 13700K or the AMD Ryzen 9 7900X, which is very impressive for a mini PC.

Overall, the GMKtec EVO T2 looks like a serious step forward in the mini PC space. With a powerful new Intel processor, strong integrated graphics, fast memory support, and modern connectivity, it has the potential to appeal to power users, AI enthusiasts, and even gamers. Now, all eyes are on GMKtec to reveal its launch date and pricing, which will decide how competitive this exciting mini PC truly is.
