Saros gets new story trailer and slips to April 30 release

Saros

Housemarque’s Saros is back in the spotlight, and it’s still looking like a bold step forward from Returnal. A new trailer shown at The Game Awards offered a fresh look at the story, alongside more intense gameplay.

The footage dives deeper into the game’s narrative side. We see new story moments and more of Arjun’s Soltari in action, using his advanced combat suit against dense waves of enemies. The bullet hell chaos is very much intact, and it feels unmistakably Housemarque.

There is some bad news, though. Saros has been delayed. The PlayStation 5 exclusive will now launch on April 30, missing its original March 20 release by around a month.

According to creative director Gregory Louden, the team is pushing harder on storytelling this time. Expect grounded voice-over, strong cinematics, haunting audio logs, and deeper interactions with NPCs. It’s a clear expansion of ideas first seen in Returnal.

Saros launches exclusively on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro. A PC version hasn’t been announced yet, but if history repeats itself, that wait may only be temporary.
