The new ATK A9 Air has arrived, and it is a great option for gamers who want a light and fast mouse without paying too much. ATK has packed strong hardware inside this small body while keeping the price easy on the wallet. The mouse weighs only 47 grams, which makes it feel smooth and quick during long gaming sessions. It is built on the ATK Shark MAX platform and has a size of 125 × 63.5 × 40 mm, so it fits well in medium and large hands.
Inside the ATK A9 Air, ATK has used the PAW3950 Ultra sensor. This sensor offers up to 30,000 DPI, 750 IPS tracking, and 50 G acceleration. These numbers simply mean the mouse can keep up even with very fast hand movements during competitive games. The mouse runs on a Nordic 54L15 controller that allows polling rates up to 8,000 Hz. Higher polling rates help the mouse send information to the PC much faster, which makes the movement feel very smooth.
The ATK A9 Air uses ATK SwiftLight optical switches with 0.181 ms response time. These switches make clicks register almost instantly. ATK also included its new GEM 8K receiver for stable high-speed wireless performance, even in places with a lot of wireless noise. ATK added a TTC Gold scroll wheel, extra sets of Teflon-based feet, and a 300 mAh battery. The smaller battery helps keep the weight down, but it can still run for up to 300 hours at 1000 Hz polling, which is good for everyday use.
The A9 Air is very close to the company’s A9 Ultra Max 2.0 and A9 Ultimate models. Those two mice use a larger 800 mAh battery and weigh 53 grams. Because of that, it is clear that the weight drop in the A9 Air mainly comes from the smaller battery. Other than that, the design and features remain almost the same.
