The HYPE 4 MKII has arrived, and Thieaudio has completely redesigned its popular hybrid in-ear monitors to deliver a powerful upgrade. This new version isn’t just retuned it’s rebuilt from scratch with fresh driver technology, improved tuning, and a high-precision acoustic design that brings out cleaner, richer, and more natural sound.
At its heart, the HYPE 4 MKII uses brand-new Knowles balanced armature drivers, the second-generation IMPACT² subwoofer system, and a newly developed 4-way crossover. Together, these deliver smooth transitions, sharper detail, and better balance across every frequency.
The Gen 2 IMPACT² system, taken from Thieaudio’s top-tier Monarch MKIV, features dual 8 mm composite diaphragm dynamic drivers in a sealed air chamber. This gives the earphones tight and deep bass with excellent texture while keeping the mids clean and open.
To enhance the overall sound, multiple Knowles drivers have been added. Two RAB-series drivers bring warmth to the low-mids, an ED-33465 driver refines the upper mids, and a RAD-33518 ultra-tweeter extends the treble up to 22 kHz for extra sparkle and clarity. The result is a wide, lifelike sound with excellent imaging and layering.
The tuning has also been carefully balanced. The HYPE 4 MKII includes a 9dB sub-bass lift with a tight cutoff at 150 Hz, keeping the bass energetic yet controlled. A gentle rise around 400 Hz adds warmth, while the treble offers smooth detail and a natural tone that never sounds harsh.
Each unit is made from CNC-milled aluminium, ensuring both strength and a premium look. Inside, a 4-way crossover with seven passive components perfectly aligns the drivers for consistent performance. Every pair goes through strict testing to guarantee quality sound.
The HYPE 4 MKII also comes with a 7N ultra-OFC copper and silver-litz modular cable, allowing easy switching between 3.5 mm and 4.4 mm plugs. It’s designed for both flexibility and transparency in sound.
