The premium model, ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X, comes packed with high-end specs for serious players. It offers a 7-inch 120Hz display at 1080p, a 70Wh or 80Wh battery, 24 GB of LPDDR5X-8000 RAM, and 1 TB of storage. At its core is the Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme chip, based on Zen 5 architecture, with up to 8 cores and 16 threads. For gamers looking for a more affordable option, the standard ASUS ROG Xbox Ally is priced at $599. It shares the same 7-inch 1080p display but comes with a 60Wh battery, 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and 512 GB of upgradable storage. It runs on the Ryzen Z2A chip, built on Zen 2 cores, with 4 cores and 8 threads, clocking up to 3.8 GHz. The GPU uses RDNA 2 technology with 8 compute units. While not as powerful as the Ally X, it still delivers a smooth portable gaming experience.

ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X pricing and availability

The $400 price difference highlights the clear gap in performance between the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X and the regular ASUS ROG Xbox Ally. The Ally X is aimed at players who want top-tier performance on the go, while the standard Ally provides strong value for those who want to experience handheld gaming at a lower cost.

Both handhelds are now available to pre-order from major retailers including Amazon, BestBuy, Walmart, and the official ROG Store. With shifting global tariffs affecting console pricing, securing a pre-order early could help buyers lock in the current launch prices.
