Nioh 3 leak hints at February 2026 release with special editions revealed

Nioh 3 - fighting against powerful yokai

Looks like Nioh 3 might be cutting in line for an earlier-than-expected release. A leak out of Amazon Japan has hinted that Team Ninja’s next souls-like action-RPG could be dropping on 6 February 2026.

Nioh 3 – announcement trailer

The listing, which was quickly scrubbed, showed both a standard edition and a flashy “Treasure Box” collector’s edition. That premium bundle packed in an art book, a soundtrack CD, a mousepad, and yes, you read that right, a furry keychain. Screenshots of the cover art and bundle details made the rounds before vanishing, and the timing is raising eyebrows.

Nioh 3 - Samurai

Why? Because there’s a PlayStation State of Play happening today. With Nioh 3 confirmed for PS5 and PC, it feels like the perfect stage for Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja to finally lock in the date.

As for the game itself, players will be stepping into the role of a fictionalised Tokugawa Takechiyo, Japan’s first shogun. The story pits him against supernatural threats, with combat letting you fluidly switch between samurai and ninja stances. Samurai brings a Ki Pulse move to recover stamina, while ninja unleashes a mist ability that creates a decoy to throw enemies off.

Team Ninja has openly said Ninja Gaiden influenced the design this time, leaning harder into fast, fluid action. Speaking of which, the studio has another project lined up, Ninja Gaiden 4, co-developed with Platinum Games, lands on 21 October.

So the question is: if Nioh 3 really drops in February, are you going all-in on the Treasure Box, or keeping it simple with the standard edition?

  1. Bahleem, youve got to love these leaks! Trying to hide a furry keychain *and* a potential Nioh 3 date right before a State of Play is like trying to sneak Mochi into a Sumo match – impossible! Team Ninja better lock that Nioh 3 date down faster than I can say Samurai Ki Pulse! While Im hyped for both Nioh 3 and Ninja Gaiden 4 landing like clockwork, my wallet is already doing the cha-cha slide thinking about those Treasure Boxes. Gotta decide: full-on collector or just the standard edición? Fun times ahead for sure!

  2. Whoa, talk about a February full of samurai surprises! Nioh 3 leaking out like that is wild timing, especially with NG4 right around the corner. Honestly, Im more excited about the furry keychain than the release date itself – talk about a unique Treasure Box incentive! Cant wait to see if Ill be splurging on special editions or just sticking to the standard edition like a ninja saving stamina. Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja better not disappoint with these releases!

  3. Bahleem, I couldnt agree more! This Nioh 3 news is like finding a hidden katana in a bag of sushi – unexpectedly awesome! Team Ninja really knows how to slice through the noise with announcements. And throwing Nioh 3 and NG4 into the same year? Thats like a samurai versus a ninja battle, but instead of honor, its just pure gaming goodness. Cant decide between standard and Treasure Box yet, though – gotta check my wallets stance first! Love the details on the combat, especially the mist decoys – perfect for when youre just trying to sneaky-attack the coffee pot. Onward and upward, Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja!

  4. Who knew a furry keychain would spark such drama? 😂 Loved the Nioh 3 sneak peek, but Im still deciding between the Treasure Box and sticking to the basics. And dont even get me started on NG4—co-developed with Platinum? Thats like the dream team! Cant wait to see what else Koei Tecmo throws our way! 🎮🐾

  5. Whoa, a furry keychain leak right before State of Play? Koei Tecmo is really pulling out all the stops, or maybe they just mistook it for a PS5 controller prototype! 😉 Still, cant wait for Nioh 3, though Ill probably just stick with the standard edition – less treasure box stress, more samurai glory! And Ninja Gaiden 4? October 21st, already? My wallet is doing somersaults! Thanks for the update, Bahleem, your articles make my gaming dreams feel a little closer!wedding vows
