SEGA has dropped a double bombshell, Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties are officially happening, and both hit shelves on 11 February 2026. Fans of the series are in for a mix of nostalgia and something completely fresh.

Kiwami 3 brings back the 2009 PlayStation 3 classic with a modern shine. Expect upgraded visuals, smoother combat, and added story moments that dig deeper into Kiryu’s world. Alongside that, new side activities are being introduced, giving players even more reasons to wander Okinawa and Tokyo. This isn’t just a remaster, it’s a full remake built to feel alive in 2026.

But SEGA isn’t stopping there. Dark Ties is a brand-new spin-off centred on Yoshitaka Mine, one of Yakuza 3’s most complex figures. The story follows his fall into the yakuza after losing everything, setting up a darker and more personal journey. Combat shifts towards a boxing-inspired style, promising fast-paced, hard-hitting fights, balanced by the series’ trademark mix of dramatic storytelling and quirky side activities.

With both games launching on the same day, February is shaping up to be huge for the franchise. SEGA has already rolled out the first trailers, giving fans a taste of the action-packed remake and Mine’s gritty new tale.

Two very different experiences, one shared universe. The question is, will you relive Kiryu’s story first, or jump straight into Mine’s descent?
