PlayStation could be lining up its next big showcase, and it might be happening as early as next week. Multiple insiders are now pointing to a fresh State of Play, with Marvel’s Wolverine tipped to be the headline act.
The rumour first came from Insider Gaming, who claimed the event was locked for late September. Now, reliable leaker NateTheHate has doubled down, saying Sony’s next presentation is “soon” and even suggesting next week as the window. For fans starved of a big update since June’s State of Play, the timing couldn’t be better.
That June State of Play showcase was the last “proper” one, while more recent broadcasts drilled down into single titles like 007: First Light and Ghost of Yotei. If this latest talk proves true, we’re looking at a far bigger line-up.

So what’s on the cards? Marvel’s Wolverine seems like a sure bet, with whispers of a 2026 release date making this the perfect chance for a proper reveal. Other names floating around include Bungie’s Marathon, Phantom Blade 0, Intergalactic Prophet, and even a rumoured Metroidvania spin on God of War. None are confirmed, but the potential is mouth-watering.
If PlayStation does pull the trigger next week, fans should brace for a packed show. The only question is – what do you want to see most when the spotlight hits?
