Nintendo has finally confirmed the long-awaited release date for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. Announced during Nintendo Direct, the game will arrive on December 4, 2025, for both the Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.

The announcement marks the end of an eight-year wait since the title was first revealed back in 2017. Fans have been anticipating a true continuation of the Metroid Prime saga, which last saw a mainline entry in 2007 with Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.

The new trailer shown during the presentation offered an extended look at gameplay and introduced a surprising new element – Samus exploring an open-world environment on a futuristic motorcycle. This addition adds a fresh twist to the series’ formula and has sparked plenty of excitement.

In the lead-up to launch, Nintendo will also release a retrospective series revisiting the first three Metroid Prime games. To celebrate further, three new Amiibo figures will be released, including one featuring Samus with her new ride.

After years of speculation, development updates, and restarts, fans can finally circle the date – Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is almost here.
