Battlefield 6 is officially getting its own battle royale mode, and it’s dropping sooner than expected. After months of leaks and rumours, EA has finally confirmed the mode and playtests are already starting this week.
Instead of just throwing battle royale into the mix as an extra, this time the developers are building it to feel like a true Battlefield experience. That means full-on destruction across the map, chaos from every direction, and the series’ class system making sure you can fight your way however you like.

Chaos on the deadliest map yet
The new Battlefield 6 mode is being tested first in Battlefield Labs, where players will get the first taste of what’s coming. Matches will feature 100 players divided into 25 squads of four, all dropped into what’s promised to be the “deadliest map in the battle royale genre.” As the fire closes in, teamwork and destruction become your best tools for survival.
While there’s no exact date for when the full mode launches, EA has said it will arrive later this week. With Battlefield 6 itself releasing on 10 October, the battle royale tests are a perfect warm-up for the mayhem ahead.
