Mafia: The Old Country has made a strong debut with more than 800,000 copies sold in its first week. The game launched on PS5, Xbox, and PC just a week ago, and the early numbers suggest a successful start for developer Hangar 13.

The sales data comes from Sensor Tower, which reported that 48% of purchases were made on PlayStation. The firm noted that this performance highlights the lasting appeal of the Mafia series and praised the choice to deliver a linear, story-driven experience with cinematic design. It also added that the stronger numbers on PlayStation could reflect the platform’s close link with single-player titles focused on narrative.

Mafia sales backed by player engagement

Alongside sales, the studio shared some early player stats. More than 185 million enemies have been taken out, and over 600 million shots have been fired since launch. These figures show that players are diving deep into the crime-filled world.

Hangar 13 is also working on updates based on community requests. A Free Ride mode is in development, allowing players to explore the map without missions. The studio confirmed that new activities and extra gameplay will also arrive in the coming months as free updates.
