Maxsun has introduced three new Maxsun B850 AM5 motherboards for AMD Ryzen processors, giving users more options for building compact PCs. The new microATX boards combine DDR5 memory support with PCIe 5.0, fast networking and multiple M.2 storage options.
The new lineup includes the MS-B850M I-CAFE, B850M-P WIFI and B850M-B WIFI. Although they share the same AMD B850 platform, each model is designed for a slightly different type of build.
Maxsun B850 AM5 Lineup Covers Different Builds
The MS-B850M I-CAFE is the most basic option in the lineup and measures 245 x 210 mm. It has two DDR5 DIMM slots with support for up to 128 GB of memory and speeds of up to DDR5-8000 with overclocking.
For graphics cards, the board provides a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot, while a PCIe 4.0 x4 slot is available for other expansion hardware. Storage options include two M.2 slots, with one running at PCIe 5.0 speeds and the other using PCIe 4.0. There are also two SATA ports.
Networking is handled by a 2.5 GbE port, while the rear panel includes four USB 5 Gbps and two USB 2.0 Type-A ports. The board also has HDMI 1.4 for integrated graphics output, but Wi-Fi is not included.
B850M-P WIFI Supports Up to 256 GB RAM
The B850M-P WIFI is the largest board in the new Maxsun B850 AM5 range, measuring 245 x 245 mm. Its main advantage is the four DDR5 memory slots, which allow users to install up to 256 GB of RAM.
It also comes with one PCIe 5.0 x16 slot, one PCIe 4.0 x4 slot and two M.2 slots for fast storage. Two SATA ports are available as well.
Wireless connectivity is included through Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, using a MediaTek MT7902 solution. The board also provides 2.5 Gb Ethernet and a front USB-C header with support for 20 Gbps speeds.
B850M-B WIFI Offers a Smaller Design
The B850M-B WIFI is aimed at users who want a more compact motherboard without giving up the main features of the larger model. It measures 245 x 215 mm and has two DDR5 DIMM slots supporting up to 128 GB.
Like the B850M-P WIFI, it features PCIe 5.0 x16 graphics support, PCIe 4.0 x4 expansion, two M.2 slots and two SATA connections.
Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 are also included, along with 2.5 Gb Ethernet. The rear I/O has four USB 5 Gbps ports and four USB 2.0 ports, while the front-panel USB-C connection supports up to 20 Gbps.
4K Display Support and Realtek Audio
Both Challenger models offer HDMI 2.0 and two DisplayPort connections for users relying on the integrated graphics available with compatible Ryzen processors. The display outputs can support 4K resolution at 60 Hz.
Across the three Maxsun B850 AM5 motherboards, audio is provided by the Realtek ALC897 codec. This is an older and fairly common audio solution, so buyers looking for premium onboard audio may need to consider a separate sound solution.
Maxsun B850 AM5 Pricing Is Still Limited
Maxsun has not announced full pricing or international availability for all three motherboards yet. However, the MS-Challenger B850M-P WIFI has already appeared on the Chinese market with a price of CNY 799, which works out to around $119 at the current conversion.
The three-board lineup gives AMD Ryzen users different options depending on how much memory, connectivity and physical space they need. The B850M-P WIFI looks like the most flexible option thanks to its four DIMM slots, while the B850M-B WIFI and I-CAFE focus more on compact builds.
International pricing will ultimately decide how competitive these new Maxsun B850 AM5 motherboards are against other B850 options already available for Ryzen systems.
