Tomb Raider fans will have to wait a little longer for the next adventure. Crystal Dynamics has confirmed that Tomb Raider Catalyst is no longer planned for 2027 and is now expected to launch in 2028.
The update came from Amazon Games General Manager Jeffrey Gattis during a recent interview with The Game Business. While talking about the company’s future game lineup, Gattis confirmed that the studio will first release Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis on February 12, 2027. After that, Tomb Raider Catalyst will follow in 2028.

The exact release date for Tomb Raider Catalyst has not been announced yet. However, the new timeline gives Crystal Dynamics more time to finish development before launch.
Gattis also confirmed that both upcoming Tomb Raider games will be available on Amazon Luna. Amazon wants these big games to help attract more players to its cloud gaming service. According to Gattis, exclusive and well-known titles are an important part of building Luna into a stronger gaming platform.
Amazon has also expanded Luna by including the game streaming service with Prime Video on supported Fire TV devices. At the same time, competition in cloud gaming is growing. Xbox recently announced a free ad-supported tier for Xbox Cloud Gaming to bring more players to its service.

For now, fans can look forward to Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis in February 2027, while Tomb Raider Catalyst is set to continue Lara Croft’s journey sometime in 2028. More details, including a release date, are expected to be shared closer to launch.
