Resident Evil Requiem DLC may not arrive until after Code Veronica remake

Resident Evil Requiem

Capcom may have bigger plans for Resident Evil Requiem than fans first expected. The trade-off, however, could be a much longer wait for its story DLC.

Fresh claims from well-known insider Dusk Golem suggest the studio is putting most of its effort into finishing the Code Veronica remake before shifting focus to new content for Resident Evil Requiem. If that timeline holds, the DLC may not arrive until after the remake launches.

A bigger expansion is said to be the goal

According to the rumour, Capcom wants the DLC to feel more like a proper story expansion instead of a short add-on. The studio is reportedly looking at larger ideas that would keep players engaged between major releases.

The same posts claim this approach could replace the smaller spin-off games that once filled the gaps in the series. It would also give the developers more room to react to player feedback without affecting the next main entry.

Nothing has been confirmed

The reported schedule points to the Code Veronica remake arriving in early 2027, although delays are always possible. Only after that project is complete would the team fully move onto the Resident Evil Requiem DLC.

Capcom has not announced any of these plans. Until the company speaks publicly, fans should treat the information as speculation rather than confirmation. Even so, those hoping for more Resident Evil Requiem content may need to be patient.
