Marvel Rivals Season 9 is bringing one of the game’s biggest updates so far. NetEase Games is introducing a new hero, rebuilding Black Widow, and changing how Team-Ups work across the entire roster.
These changes are expected to shake up both casual and competitive play.
Jubilee arrives with support-focused abilities
Jubilee joins the game as a Strategist. She can switch between dealing damage and healing teammates, giving players more flexibility during fights.
Her Ultimate stands out the most. It sends out repeated pulses that heal allies while pushing enemies away. That could make a huge difference during close battles over objectives.

Black Widow gets a fresh role
Black Widow has received a complete redesign instead of a simple balance update.
Her sniper rifle now works more like a marksman weapon, while her previous Ultimate has become a standard ability. She also gains a brand-new Ultimate that fires six powerful piercing shots, giving skilled players more chances to pressure multiple enemies without relying on instant eliminations.
The update gives the Duelist a clearer role in team fights.

Team-Ups work differently now
Marvel Rivals Season 9 also changes the Team-Up system.
Every hero now starts with two Team-Up options. Each provides a bonus even without the matching partner. If the linked hero is also on the team, the effect becomes stronger.
The update also introduces Rechargeable Shields for several mobile heroes. After staying out of combat for a few seconds, part of their health returns automatically, helping them survive without constant healing.
With new mechanics affecting every match, Season 9 could be one of Marvel Rivals’ most important updates yet.
