Valve Steam Deck OLED has once again proven how popular it remains among PC gamers. Despite a recent price increase that sparked criticism across gaming communities, the latest batch of Steam Deck OLED units sold out in the United States within just 24 hours of becoming available.
The restock marked the first time in months that many buyers had a chance to purchase the handheld gaming PC. Depending on the region, stock had been unavailable for anywhere between two and five months. While many expected the higher prices to slow down demand, the opposite appears to have happened.

Soon after the restock went live, the Steam Deck quickly climbed back to the top of Steam’s Top Sellers chart. The ranking is based on revenue rather than total units sold, but it still shows that interest in the handheld remains extremely strong.
Reports suggest that the recent price increase pushed some Valve Steam Deck OLED models up by as much as $300. Even so, many gamers were willing to pay the higher price to secure a unit after months of limited availability.

The strong sales performance has surprised some industry watchers who expected customers to delay purchases because of the higher cost. Instead, demand appears to have been driven by a combination of low stock levels, long waiting periods, and concerns that prices could rise even further in the future.
A similar buying rush was seen when Sony announced price increases for the PlayStation 5 in several regions. However, Sony informed customers before the price changes took effect, giving buyers time to purchase the console at the older price. In Valve’s case, many buyers were simply eager to get hold of a Steam Deck after months of shortages.
While the Valve Steam Deck OLED is currently out of stock in the United States, the handheld remains available in parts of Europe and East Asia through regional distribution partners. Whether Valve can keep up with demand in the coming months remains to be seen, but the latest sales figures show that interest in handheld PC gaming continues to grow.
For now, the Valve Steam Deck OLED remains one of the most sought-after handheld gaming devices on the market, even with its higher price tag.
