Fortnite players finally have a date for the game’s next major live event, and it sounds like Epic Games is going all in again.
The event is called Shattered, and it begins on 5 June at 7 PM ET. It will close out Chapter 7 Season 2 and bring the current storyline to an end. The season has focused heavily on the clash between the Foundation and the Ice King, so fans are expecting a chaotic finale.
What makes this one feel bigger is the gap since the last proper end-of-season spectacle. Fortnite has had smaller moments over the years, but not many events on the scale of Collision. That was back in Chapter 3, and players have been asking for another huge finale ever since.
Epic is still keeping most details secret. The studio has not confirmed where the event takes place or how long it will last. A short downtime after the finale also seems likely. That has become standard for major Fortnite transitions.

At the same time, Fortnite has quietly returned to the Apple App Store in several regions. The move comes after years of legal fighting between Epic Games and Apple. Not every country has access yet, though, with Australia still missing out at the time of writing.
Epic also used the announcement period to criticise Apple once again. The company said regulators in Europe, Japan, and the UK have pushed things forward, but argued more action is still needed.
It is shaping up to be a very busy month for Fortnite.
