Tom Kane, one of the most recognisable voices in animation and gaming, has died at the age of 64.
The veteran actor passed away in Kansas City after ongoing complications linked to a stroke he suffered back in 2020. That health scare forced Kane away from voice acting and largely out of the public eye.
For many fans, Tom Kane was Yoda. His work in Star Wars: The Clone Wars helped define the character for an entire generation. But his career stretched far beyond a galaxy far, far away.

Gamers will also remember him as Takeo Masaki in the Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies storyline. It became one of the most loved crews in the series, and Kane’s performance played a huge part in that.
Outside games, his voice appeared in The Powerpuff Girls, Batman: Arkham Asylum, and several major TV broadcasts. If you grew up in the late 1990s or 2000s, there is a good chance you heard Kane somewhere without even realising it.

His final years were difficult after the stroke affected his speech and mobility. Still, he recently made a rare public appearance earlier this year, which many fans now see in a very different light.
Tom Kane leaves behind his wife, children, and a career that touched millions of people across games, films, and animation.
