Rockstar Games might be taking an extreme approach with Grand Theft Auto 6 reviews.
A fresh report from Brazil claims the studio has no plans to send traditional review copies to media outlets ahead of launch. Instead, journalists could be invited to special in-person sessions where the game is played under strict supervision.
The claim comes from reporter Pedro Henrique Lutti Lippe during a recent podcast appearance. According to him, Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive want total control over how early coverage is handled.
That means no review codes landing in inboxes days before release. No downloads at home. And probably no chance of leaks slipping out early.
If true, it would be one of the tightest review strategies the industry has seen in years.
Then again, this is GTA 6. Rockstar has spent more than a decade building towards this launch. The game has already survived major leaks, endless rumours, and a level of hype most studios could never handle.

At this stage, the publisher likely sees secrecy as more important than early review scores.
GTA 6 will sell millions regardless of what critics say on day one. Rockstar knows that.
A controlled event would also stop spoilers, hidden mechanics, and story details from spreading online before launch. In the age of social media, that matters more than ever.

For now, Rockstar has not officially commented on the report. But with GTA 6 expected to dominate the industry next year, people are already watching every move closely.
