AMD makes a smart move by focusing more on Radeon RX 9070 XT

AMD is reportedly making a smart and positive move by giving more production priority to the Radeon RX 9070 XT instead of the non XT version. According to a report from PROHARDVER, the company is shifting more of its internal capacity towards the XT model, which has a higher price of $599.

Both the Radeon RX 9070 XT and the Radeon RX 9070 use the same Navi 48 chip and come with 16 GB of GDDR6 memory. Because of this, the cost to make both cards is almost the same. Memory prices are the biggest issue right now, so AMD wants to focus on the card that gives better profit and makes more sense for the effort put into development.

The non XT version uses a lower quality version of the same chip, but the price difference between the two cards is only around nine percent. This makes the XT model a better choice for AMD and for graphics card makers, as it helps reduce the need for price cuts in the future.

That said, the Radeon RX 9070 is not being discontinued. AMD will still make it, but in lower numbers compared to the XT model. The company says this reduction will not be enough to cause shortages in the market.

AMD is also working closely with its add in card partners to help keep memory prices stable. These partnerships are meant to reduce sudden price changes and improve overall availability. While nothing is fully guaranteed, AMD says it is doing its best to keep prices fair and supply steady for gamers and PC users.
