Fans of The Division finally have a glimpse into the future of the franchise. Ubisoft confirmed that The Division 3 is in active development, with executive producer Julian Gerighty calling it “shaping up to be a monster.”
The series first arrived in 2016, dropping players into a post-pandemic New York City where survival meant navigating factions and chaos. Its mix of looter-shooter mechanics and MMO-style systems made it a hit, and the sequel in 2019 built on that foundation.

Speaking at the New Game+ showcase, Gerighty highlighted the team’s ambitions for the next entry. He suggested that The Division 3 could have as much impact as the original game, promising a project that’s bigger, bolder, and carefully crafted.
Gerighty also reflected on the near-cancellation of The Division 2, revealing that a small team of developers helped turn the game around. Since then, the franchise has regained momentum, setting the stage for the next chapter.

While no official reveal or release date has been shared yet, fans now have their first reason to get excited. The question is whether The Division 3 can live up to the hype and become the series’ defining entry.
