Sony has announced something special for fans of God of War. To celebrate the series’ 20th anniversary, a brand-new DualSense wireless controller will launch this October. The design was shown during the latest State of Play event, and it has already caught the eye of many players.

This limited edition controller is designed to look like Kratos, the hero of the series. The grey colour is based on his ash-covered skin, while the bold red tattoo across the controller is inspired by the famous omega mark on his body. Together, these details remind players of his long story across Ancient Greece and the Nine Realms.

Dela Longfish, Associate Art Director at Santa Monica Studio, shared that the team wanted to honour Kratos’ journey in the best way possible. He explained that the red tattoo and grey tones are the most iconic parts of Kratos’ look and were a perfect match for the shape of the controller. According to him, this design represents both the Greek and Norse chapters of God of War.

Pre-orders will open on October 3, 2025, at 10am local time on direct.playstation.com in selected regions, along with other retail partners worldwide. The exact launch date may differ by country.
