PUBG: Battlegrounds is making the jump to current-gen consoles and leaving the old hardware behind. KRAFTON and PUBG Studios confirmed the PS4 and Xbox One versions will shut down on 13 November 2025. That’s the same day the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S native versions go live.

From that date, PUBG Console will only run on PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. The upgrade promises better visuals, more stable frame rates, and fewer crashes thanks to memory optimisations. Cross-play will stay, and the target is a smooth 60fps across all platforms – except Series S, which will offer a choice between performance and resolution modes.

Player progress and purchased items are safe. Log into the new versions and everything will carry over automatically. On PS5, you’ll need to download the updated version from the PlayStation Store. Xbox players will get the upgrade via Smart Delivery.

Refunds for BATTLEGROUNDS Plus and the base game will follow each platform’s policy.

After eight years on PS4 and Xbox One, PUBG says the move is about stability, future updates, and keeping the console version competitive.
