Bethesda just released a new Starfield beta update on Steam. It’s a minor patch. If you want in, switch to the beta branch in your Steam library.
Here’s what it fixes:
– Better formatting in Creations menu
– Fixed visual bug with Extreme Temperature gear
– Improved mission menu sorting
– General crash and stability fixes
That’s it. Nothing major. But the bigger news? Bethesda is teasing “exciting things” again. Same line they used back in March.
We won’t hear more for “a few months.” That likely means no second expansion in 2025. Despite Todd Howard saying Starfield would get yearly expansions.

Starfield new expansion might be coming
There’s a rumour the delay is tied to the PlayStation 5 port. Bethesda could bundle the next expansion with it. Or they just want to avoid another Shattered Space.
Shattered Space got a lukewarm response. Good story, but didn’t fix core issues. Space exploration still feels hollow.
So, today’s update is small. But the wait for something big continues.
