Netflix greenlights exciting Assassins Creed live-action series with top creators

Assassins Creed TV Show

It’s official, Netflix is making a live-action Assassins Creed series. After years of rumours, Ubisoft has finally confirmed it. The show is the first project from Ubisoft’s 2020 deal with Netflix to bring its games to TV.

Emmy-nominated writers Roberto Patino (DMZ, Westworld) and David Wiener (Halo, Homecoming) will lead the show. They’re signed on as creators, showrunners, and executive producers.

The plot will follow characters across different points in history. As in the games, the story will explore the secret war between Assassins and Templars. One side wants control, the other fights for freedom. Expect historical action, parkour, and plenty of moral grey areas.

“We’ve loved Assassins Creed since 2007,” said Wiener and Patino. “This show is about more than action. It’s about identity, purpose, and human connection across time and cultures.”

There’s no word yet on casting or a release window. It’s also unclear if the show will adapt any specific game or tell a brand-new story.

Will Netflix get this Assassins Creed right?

This news comes soon after the launch of Assassins Creed Shadows. That game, set in Feudal Japan, was praised for its open world and dual protagonists.
