Wildgate is out now on PS5, Xbox, and PC. It’s a PvP shooter from Dreamhaven, a studio formed by ex-Blizzard devs. The game blends ship combat and first-person shooting in a sci-fi world.
The launch trailer shows off the action. Players jump between space battles and on-foot firefights. Think Sea of Thieves but in space.
A big patch also went live with the game. It brings new progression systems like Infamy, Streaks, and Milestones. A new game mode is in. Ships got rebalanced health, design, and interactions all updated.
Respawn times were tweaked too. It’s now 16 seconds if you die off your ship. Just 12 if you die on it.
Weapons, loot, and equipment all saw balance changes. The UI got some love. Quality-of-life fixes are in. Bugs? Squashed.
Dreamhaven CEO Mike Morhaime said:
“The response to Wildgate’s open beta was incredible… We’re just starting to open the gate to a galaxy full of wonder, strategy, and discovery.”
