Warlock revealed as a single-player D&D action adventure, due in 2027

Warlock: Dungeons and Dragons

Wizards of the Coast has revealed Warlock, a single-player, open-world action/adventure game set in the Dungeons & Dragons universe. It’s targeting a 2027 release.

The game was announced ahead of TGA 2025 and is being developed by Invoke Studios, formerly Tuque Games. It’s built in Unreal Engine 5 and has been in development since 2022.

Unlike most D&D games, Warlock focuses on just one class. You play as a Warlock, with magic powering combat and world traversal. Spells are used in direct ways, but creative thinking is a big part of exploration.

The story follows a predefined protagonist called Kaatri. She’s a former weapon master who made a dangerous Pact for personal reasons players will uncover. That past means she’s deadly in melee, and the game aims to blend blades and magic smoothly.

Kaatri is voiced by Tricia Helfer, known for Battlestar Galactica and Lucifer.

There are no dice rolls or tabletop systems. The goal is easy access, even for players new to D&D. Still, the wider lore shapes the world, with familiar faces expected.

Warlock is single player only. No co-op and no dialogue choices, with Invoke saying this keeps the story tight and focused.

Gameplay will be shown next summer. The wait is on.
