The Game Awards brought big news for Tomb Raider fans as two new games from the long-running series were officially announced. One title continues Lara Croft’s journey with a fresh story, while the other brings her first adventure back with modern gameplay and visuals.

Tomb Raider: Catalyst
The first reveal was Tomb Raider: Catalyst, the next main game in the series. The story takes place in Northern India, where a powerful ancient event has caused old secrets to rise to the surface. Treasure hunters from across the world arrive in the region, hoping to take control of the hidden power. Lara Croft must explore dangerous locations, uncover the truth behind the disaster, and stop a major threat before it is too late. Trust and betrayal play an important role as Lara decides who to work with during her journey.
Built using Unreal Engine 5, Tomb Raider: Catalyst features the largest world ever created for the series. Players will explore wide areas, discover hidden tombs, solve clever puzzles, and use Lara’s upgraded tools to survive. The game is planned for release in 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis
The second announcement was Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, a modern reimagining of Lara Croft’s original adventure. The game keeps the core story but updates it with improved controls, new level designs, and modern visuals. Players will travel through lost locations, overcome dangerous traps, and face deadly enemies while searching for the powerful Scion artifact. The project is being developed by Crystal Dynamics in partnership with Flying Wild Hog and will launch in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam.
Both games will feature Alix Wilton Regan as the voice of Lara Croft. Her performance brings a fresh yet familiar feel to the character and connects both titles into a new era for the franchise.

With the Tomb Raider series nearing its 30th anniversary, these announcements mark an important moment for Lara Croft’s future. More updates are expected in the coming months.
