Towerborne, the looter brawler from Stoic and published by Xbox Games Studios, is finally leaving Early Access. The full launch is set for 26 February 2026, and it’s coming to PlayStation 5 for the first time.
One of the biggest changes? The game is ditching free-to-play. The standard edition will cost $24.99 (£19.99), with a deluxe version at $29.99 (£23.99). But the switch to a paid model comes with a perk: you’ll no longer need to stay online. Buy it once, play offline, no strings attached.
The 1.0 update brings more than just pricing changes. The story has been expanded, adding a proper antagonist, side quests, and a fully fleshed-out narrative. The Bounty Board has been overhauled, and the difficulty system now includes a new Brutal mode for players seeking a real challenge.
Current Early Access players can carry over their progress, though the team recommends starting fresh to experience the revamped story from the beginning.

Towerborne is still available on Xbox Game Pass and PC via Steam Founder’s Packs. Fans finally get the complete looter brawler experience, with more content and freedom than before.
